The club have been able to minimise the increase in subscription levels by continuing to reduce expenditure and, at the same time, work to keep revenue levels as high as possible despite this particularily difficult economic period. To illustrate this – revenue has dropped by £58,000 since 2007 due to reducing membership, bar takings and green fees but we have cut expenditure by £70,000 in the same period.
The club is continuing to drive for new members (don’t forget that you can earn £50 bar credit by proposing a new member), expand other sources of revenue through social events, club sponsorship, better clubhouse utilisation and attract fee paying visitors.
Every form of expenditure is carefully examined to achieve value for money and costs will continue to be reduced.
However the club do need members to continue to play their part in patronising social events, using the bar and catering facilities and doing whatever they can to look after the club’s interests.
