| Nomination for Club Vice Captain 2012 – 2013 |

At the General Committee meeting which was held on December 20th 2011 Mr John Titley, current Club Vice Captain, nominated Mr Tony Quinn to succeed him in the position effective from April 1st 2012.
The General Committee unanimously confirmed the nomination which will be presented to the Club’s AGM on March 22nd 2012 for formal approval by the members.

IMPORTANT
The club need to publicise its position regarding this and adopt a local rule to cover it. The Club continue to follow the R and A guidance on the subject so have adopted (via Committee) the following;
“A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used."
Please take notice that this outlaws the use of certain smart phones that have an embedded compass. If in doubt – do not use a device that may breach this rule. The penalty for breach of this rule is disqualification.This rule is effective as of now and will be posted on the notice boards. It will be incorporated on score cards in due course. |
